Sell your art with Artlife
Whether you are interested in selling your blue-chip, established, or emerging artwork, Artlife Gallery’s team of experts can assist you in appraising and achieving the best price for your art. By marketing through our online platforms and promoting directly to collectors, we will streamline the selling process for you from start to finish.
How It Works
1. Submit Your Artwork
To fully determine the value of your piece, the experts at ArtLife Gallery will need images and details related to your artwork. You will need to include contact information, as well as information about when and how the piece was created. After your submission has been reviewed and accepted, ArtLife Gallery can provide estimated values for your approval. Once you give the thumbs up, we can begin the selling process!
2. Exhibit For Sale
If you choose to send your physical artwork to ArtLife Gallery, we will exhibit your piece at our gallery or an affiliated gallery. Additionally, we will promote your work through our website and various online channels. Combining gallery art consignment with online promotion ensures that your artwork gets in front of as many interested art buyers as possible!
3. Sold By ArtLife Gallery
Whether we are physically caring for your artwork or simply promoting it to interested buyers remotely, we will keep you updated throughout the entire process. As offers start coming in, we will send each offer to you individually. You can then choose if you’d like to sell, negotiate, or wait for a better offer. Once you’ve accepted an offer, we will arrange for your payment, as well as shipment of your piece to the buyer.

What information do I need to provide when I submit a piece of artwork?
When you submit your personal work (or a piece of artwork that you own), you will need to submit your contact information. This must include your first name, last name, email address, and phone number. Regarding the artwork, you must also provide proof of ownership, the name of the artist, the name of the piece, the date and place of origin, a brief description (including materials used), and at least one high-resolution image.
How long does the submission process take?
When you send us your submission, we will generally contact you to let you know that we’ve received it within 1-2 business days. Then, it will take an additional 2-3 business days for our expert team to evaluate the artwork. Once your submission is approved, we will contact you with an estimated valuation. If for some reason we need more information or cannot approve your submission, we will contact you immediately to let you know.
Can I submit artwork created by someone else?
Absolutely! If you can show proof of ownership, then you can submit any piece to ArtLife Gallery for approval. You can also submit your own work to us. However, keep in mind that we have a very rigorous and competitive review process, so we cannot guarantee that every new artist will make it into our gallery for consignment.
Can I submit multiple pieces?
Yes, you can submit as many pieces as you like for art consignment. However, the more you submit, the longer you will have to wait to get final estimates for the entire batch.
Does ArtLife Gallery charge to sell art?
We do take a small art consignment percentage once an item has sold. However, just like you, we don’t get paid unless the item sells. We don’t charge anything upfront and we provide a free estimate for approved submissions.
How long does it take for artwork to sell?
The answer to this question will vary based on the artist, the piece, and the industry at large. That said, we aim to sell consignment pieces within a 90-day period. Some sales occur in a matter of days, while others can take weeks or even months.
Who pays for the shipping costs?
Once a sale has been made, ArtLife Gallery will cover the cost of shipping to the buyer. If the artwork resides outside of the United States, you will need to cover the packaging and shipping costs to get it to us. Otherwise, you won’t have to pay anything toward shipping within the contiguous United States.
What happens if the artwork does not sell?
If your submission does not sell within the art consignment agreement period, you can choose to either extend the consignment period or keep your work. Art consignment is not an exact science, but remember that if you don’t get paid, we don’t get paid either. Therefore, we will do everything in power to sell your art at a great price!
